A tale of intrigue, adventure and romance, this enchanting, remastered dramatization captures the romance of Jane Austin's classic novel "Northanger Abbey".
Set in England in the early 19th century, Pride and Prejudice tells the story of Mr and Mrs Bennet's five unmarried daughters after the rich and eligible Mr Bingley and his status-conscious friend, Mr Darcy, have moved into their neighbourhood. While Bingley takes an immediate liking to the eldest Bennet daughter, Jane, Darcy has difficulty adapting to local society and repeatedly clashes with the second-eldest Bennet daughter, Elizabeth.
Interesting fact about the novel - It was originally titled First Impressions, and was written between October 1796 and August 1797. Austen made significant revisions to the manuscript for First Impressions between 1811 and 1812. She then renamed the story Pride and Prejudice around 1811/1812.
When spirited young woman, Fanny Price is sent away to live on the great country estate of her rich cousins, she's meant to learn the ways of proper society. But while Fanny learns 'their' ways, she also enlightens them with a wit and sparkle all her own.
